I still get a thrill every time I see my photos in print.
I was at a meeting yesterday at one of my favourite cafes in Port Macquarie, Social Grounds, when someone (Thanks Barbara) came up and told me they’d just read a fantastic article about me. So following the meeting, I headed down to the newsagent and found Mid North Coast NOW magazine.
Following my trip to Papua New Guinea with Cool Earth earlier this year I had done an interview with a local journalist, Lauren. When I saw the publication I was stoked to see that not only was there a beautiful, glossy article about my work overseas, but one of my photos was also on the front cover.
With the by-line
“We’re making our mark on the world
People going places and making a difference
in sport, fashion, nature and humanity”
this magazine celebrates locals who are doing interesting things around the world. I shared the pages with Cantik Swimwear’s Catherine Heenan, World Surf League judge Luke Reading, Rugby League star Danny Buderus, local charity Asian Aid, and Doctor Ray Hodgson who is dedicated to saving lives in Nepal.
I’ve loved reading all the stories about the adventures fellow locals have taken into the unknown.
Thanks to Lauren White for writing this fantastic article.
