I was in Byron Bay for a fashion and lifestyle photo shoot for Japanese wetsuit brand, Moon Jelly.  This boutique brand happens to come from the little surf town I lived in a few years ago in Chiba-Ken (east of Tokyo), where they hand make customised super kawaii wetsuits.  The Moon Jelly crew were in Australia for the Byron Bay Surf Festival. We shot at Atlantic Byron Bay a picturesque resort in the heart of Byron.  It was the perfect backdrop for our swimwear/surf fashion photography shoot.   SaveSave SaveSave SaveSave SaveSaveSaveSave   I’m based in Crescent Head NSW.  If you don’t know it, Crescent Head is a beautiful surf village half way between Byron Bay and Sydney.  Our biggest town nearby is Port Macquarie.  Our beaches on the Mid North Coast are insanely beautiful (and usually empty) and the bushland is endless. Please get in touch if you’d like to book a lifestyle shoot with me in Crescent Head.  I’m also available to travel throughout NSW and internationally.  Email today with enquiries at info@aliciafoxphotography.com   See more of my Lifestyle Photography HERE ve SaveSave SaveSave SaveSave Read More
I am so inspired when I meet someone who is truly going above and beyond for the benefit of others and the greater good. Kids in regional areas of Australia aren't always given the opportunities that exist in the cities and metropolitan areas. Nancy Pattison, entrepreneur behind Indii Swimwear is passionate... This March, James and I met with Cuba’s female surfing population, all two of them. Lorena is the only female bodyboarder in Cuba and Yaya is the only female stand-up surfer.  These passionate women inspired us to write their story about what it’s like to live and surf in a country where educated people live off government rations, surf shops don’t exist and waves go unexplored because people don’t have cars or gas to get to them. Here’s the article from this months Surfgirl Magazine, available in The UK and Europe.       Read More

James and I wrote and photographed this article for Tide Magazine in Germany. James interviewed Patricia and Ellie, from Munich, about their falling in love with the magical Panamanian village of Santa Catalina and starting the regions first surf shop. The girls are an inspiration and show that you can follow your heart and live your dreams in paradise. The article was translated into German. Please send me an email if you’d like to read the English version. Photos by Alicia Fox Surf photos by Richard Brady Words by James Galletly Read More

James and I have an article in this month’s issue of Surfing World magazine (Australia). The issue is ‘The Design Issue’. Our article is about an inspired and talented surf board shaper in Japan, who has a dream to grow his own surfboard. Ono is working with hemp fibres for a unique and environmentally friendly alternative to the highly synthetic boards that currently dominate the market. Read More
This morning as I walked along my now local beach here in Peru, I was shocked to come across the head and tail of a dolphin. The decapitated animal looked as if was still smiling – just as they do at Seaworld and other marine parks. These photos will be used by an amazing organisation in Peru, Mundo Azul, which is working to protect Peru's beautiful cetaceans. Read More
During our second week in Japan, James and I took a short trip to an amazingly beautiful island not far from Tokyo. Niijima Island was like a dream – clear waters with empty waves, quaint village streets and the most wonderful outdoor onsen (natural, hot water spring) which overlooked the waves crashing below. We were so inspired that we decided it was the perfect subject to do our first collaboration together – I took the photos and James wrote the article. We submitted it to Outdoor Japan magazine and we ended up getting an 8 page spread, and the front cover. It’s a nice start to our journalistic adventures. Outdoor Japan Magazine website Read More
Pic: Donavon Frankenreiter I had a brilliant weekend at the Greenroom Festival in Yokohama. It’s a music festival, based around surf culture. There was a whole lot of amazing artwork including live mural paintings from the Gravity Free crew. These guys are prolific, and James and I will be hooking up with them again to help get their artwork out to the world. The music was a lot of fun, and the floorboards on the huge wooden theatre were literally bouncing with thousands of dancers. Highlights for me were Dachambo, Natty, Rickie-G, Matt Grundy and Donavon Frankenreiter. I got to meet up with Matt and Donavon after 5 years, when I last saw them on their Australian Tour in 2004. It was a reminder that this is a crazy, small world – and I love it. Pic: Me sporting a new headpiece from Tokyo Designers Chaco, with some of my new friends, backstage at the Greenroom Read More
